ON MARGATE SANDS LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
PRINTS INSPIRED BY TS ELIOT’S POEM THE WASTELAND
I was invited by the Lombard Street Gallery to participate in a group exhibition entitled On Margate Sands.
This exhibition coincides with several other exhibitions and events in the area, all designed to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of TS Eliot’s poem The Wasteland. The poem was written overlooking Margate Sands. This exhibition runs alongside Journeys with the Wasteland at Turner Contemporary – also inspired by the poem. The five works shown here have been inspired by the verses of this long and difficult poem. They are entitled, The Burial of the Dead, A Game of Chess, The Fire Sermon, Death by Drowning and What the Thunder Said.
The Exhibition is on between 3 February 2018 and 7 May at the Lombard Street Gallery in Margate.
