Seventeen years ago I stumbled upon a way of making art that I love and which allows me to make sense of the world around me.
I use a collage approach to digitally combine photographic details I have taken, to create new scenes.
Visually connecting with places in a refreshingly different way.

On the shoreline again today in my imagination. Who else would like to be here?
The energy and rhythm of the waves is something I am trying to capture in the imagery I am creating at the moment.
You know that feeling when standing at the edge of the shore and there is nothing between you and the power of the sea.
Doing one of my favourite things
Scrambling in between and underneath the boats on Southwold harbour taking photos.
These textures often give starting points for my work or become skylines in the photomontages I create. I’m not great at seeing the big picture but can see whole scenes in these small details.
After the social coming together of Open Houses, I’m now returning to a more reflective space, where I can think about exploring new work.
Visiting the beach yesterday after dropping work at the Southwold Gallery gave a gentle nudge into that space. I took photos in the harbour and paddled in the sea and am now back in the studio thinking ‘seascapes’
